The meaning of our name

What does Skonis mean?

Skonis (Lithuanian) noun: flavour

Skonis is a Lithuanian word that means flavour.

Just as flavour cannot be measured and can only be felt, education cannot be measured either. It reflects in the personality of a person.

Personalised learning

Every student is unique

Recognising that every student is unique, we embrace a personalised approach to learning. Our dedicated educators tailor their teaching methods to different learning styles, so each student can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

With one teacher for every 25 students (overall, across the school), teachers have the time to notice how each child learns, answer every question and give the individual attention that helps children grow in confidence.

Our Philosophy

Empowering Students to Become Leaders

At Skonis World School, we believe that every child has the potential to learn, grow, lead and make a meaningful difference in the world. Our philosophy is rooted in nurturing confident, compassionate, responsible and lifelong learners who are prepared not only to achieve academic excellence but also to navigate life with purpose and integrity.

We believe in educating the whole child. Every learner is unique, with individual strengths, interests and ways of understanding the world. Our approach therefore goes beyond academics to nurture multiple dimensions of learning and development, including:

Through engaging learning experiences, innovative teaching practices and opportunities for exploration, collaboration and self-expression, we encourage students to discover their strengths, develop their potential and become independent thinkers.

Making a Difference

We believe that education should do more than impart knowledge—it should inspire curiosity, build character and empower children to create a positive impact.

At Skonis, we create an environment where students are encouraged to question, explore, experiment and think beyond the conventional. Our thoughtfully designed programmes, enriching learning experiences and exposure to academic experts provide students with opportunities to broaden their horizons and develop skills for the future.

Most importantly, learning should be meaningful and joyful. We value the partnership between home and school and believe that active parent participation strengthens a child's educational journey. Together, we create a supportive community where every child feels valued, inspired and empowered to become the best version of themselves.

Our Philosophy in One Line
“Nurturing minds, shaping character and empowering every child to lead with purpose.”
